About Starr County Teachers Federal Credit Union
The Starr County Teachers Federal Credit union was founded in 1968 by a group of educators. The purpose of organizing a credit union was to provide school district employees with a financial institution of their own. This institution could offer them better rates on loans and a better return on their deposits. The credit union strives to become the members primary financial institution. In spite of the credit union’s humble beginning, it has become a rather noticeable and competitive financial institution. Offering its members a variety of loan products and competitive rates on their deposits, plus other services.
The credit union opens its door to any school district employee within the county. A person is eligible for membership is he/she is employed by the Roma ISD, San Isidro ISD or Rio Grande City ISD. Also eligible for membership are the immediate family members of the primary member. Such as spouse, father, mother, sister, brother, son, daughter or retired school personnel.
