About Us
The Starr County Teachers Federal Credit union was founded in 1968 by a group of educators. The purpose of organizing a credit union was to provide school district employees with a financial institution of their own. This institution could offer them better rates on loans and a better return on their deposits. The credit union strives to become the members primary financial institution. In spite of the credit union’s humble beginning, it has become a rather noticeable and competitive financial institution. Offering its members a variety of loan products and competitive rates on their deposits, plus other services.
The credit union opens its door to any school district employee within the county. A person is eligible for membership if they are employed on a full-time basis by Roma ISD, San Isidro ISD or Rio Grande City Grulla ISD. Also eligible for membership are the immediate family members of the primary member. Such as a spouse, father, mother, sister, brother, son, or daughter.
